Hotel Alice at Atlantic Beach

The staff is incredible and works very hard, but there are ways management could help them out. Checking in took about half an hour because there was a line of people at the front desk mostly asking for couch linens and one of the people was bouncing from the front desk to the bar. If spare linens were put in the room by housekeeping or if they had a second designated front desk agent, this would not be an issue. Love the drink tokens you get upon check in, it really encourages the guests to leave their rooms and enjoy the amenities. Dog friendly with a jar of treats on the desk is amazing and if I'd known I would've brought my dog. On the flip side though my neighbors dog has been barking for over 20 minutes at 8 in the morning. Other reviews mentioned cleanliness issues, my room was perfect and the lobby was very clean considering people are coming back and forth from the beach. There are water spigots to rinse off at the entrance to the parking lot which is definitely a great addition. Overall I would stay here again.

We stayed here for a wedding at the Yacht Club over a few days. Despite the rain, our experience was great! The hotel is nice and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming — truly the highlight of our stay. A couple of small suggestions: it would be great if the suites had some actual glasses and dishes instead of being empty, and the breakfast coffee in the lobby could use an upgrade. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and gave it five stars mainly because of the outstanding staff. We’d consider staying here again

I stayed at this location back in July. They staff was amazing and so nice. The views were beautiful ! Rooms were very comfortable. I even booked an extra night because I loved it so much . If you are planning a trip to Pine Knoll shore Hotel Alice is the place you want to stay!!

Perfect location across from a public beach access and an easy drive to great restaurants like Island Grille, Amos Mosquito's, and the perennial favorite Big Oak Drive In. Much preferred to cookie cutter chains. Bar and bistro on-site, also. King suite is more than adequate. Off season rates are amazing. Stay once and you'll come back! Booked Hotel Alice last minute through booking.com after a terrible Airbnb experience. They received my reservation within 15 minutes and had us in a room with no troubles. The two ladies Kristen & Jen (one hard-working bartender doing multiple tasks and the other checking guests in) were so kind and amazing! Employees like them are faces of the company, and those two really shine bright! Room was huge and roomy, wonderful hot water and pressure, no trouble with bugs or mold, a/c worked fine and not leaking, room smelled like a normal hotel room. Housekeeping was pleasant asked if we needed cleaning or extra towels without having to ask. All of the elevators work fine, previous reviews must be bothered by the slight "bonk sound" any elevator makes when reaching the bottom floor.. also expecting the elevators to be a nice 72 degrees is just silly! It's the summer on the beach, you can expect sand in unwanted places and the constant using elevators to be a little humid. I didn't order breakfast so I can't comment on that, or use any bicycles they had available. The pool is spacious and enjoyable. Beach access was incredibly easy! We brought our 7 lb dog with us, even with other dogs their were no issues at all. My great experience started with the two great ladies I encountered at check in! Recommend 10/10!

I recently stayed at Hotel Alice. Like checked out this morning. It is a lovely hotel in a great location with some pretty good amenities. However, the rooms could use a few upgrades and could be cleaner. When you first walk in the lobby, it smells fabulous. But when I stepped onto the elevator and got up to my room (430) the smell was not very pleasant. The room smelled like mildew but I brought air freshener with me so that helped mask the smell. I did see mildew/mold on the ceiling and at the bottom of the cloth shower curtain. I had a little guest on 2 separate occasions in my bathroom. Not sure if they were roaches or baby water bugs. Either way, not what I expected to see while using the restroom in the middle of the night. The older gentleman that checked me in on 12/9 around 5:00 pm was super sweet and very helpful. I didn’t really interact with any other staff other than at checkout and she was sweet too. The other staff I saw at the front desk never lifted their heads up to speak so I just kept on walking. I loved that you were able to rent bikes free of charge to explore the area and that you get tokens for free drinks! I’d stay here again but would hope there would be better maintenance on my next stay.

Literally a stones throw walk to the beach. Enjoyed such a gorgeous walk and saw beautiful sunrises. And the room was clean and comfortable. And definitely a retreat for me and my doggy.

This is where we stay two or three times a year while we are in town for fishing charters. The staff are always friendly and helpful. They are remodeling the rooms and giving the hotel a new look. The water pressure is lacking and the only reason for this 4 star was the picture near the bed had mold inside of it. We love this place!
